The Watershed wanted to attract a younger, local audience. To do this, they created the GoodNightMarket and approached us to program a series of events and activations in the space.

Opening during the first ever #GoodNightMarket at the V & A Waterfront, this exhibition showcases established and emerging photographers with unique perspectives whose work presents the world in an unconventional way.
Whether through unusual angles or unexpected subject matter, scenes of the everyday are transformed, while remaining intrinsically South African. In other instances, scenes that may seem unremarkable are given relevance through the photographer’s lens, and we’re given a second chance to enjoy the easily-missed humour in an awkward, inanimate object or an interesting interaction.
These photographers see things as we wouldn’t, and remind us to look up, look through, or look again.

In the second edition, we created a live doodle station where visitors to the Market could get their portraits drawn by local illustrators.

In the third iteration for Octoberfest, we got local product maker Heath Nash to create a series of beer bottle sound machines.
